Who Owns Tupac Music? [Solved]
Wow, Amaru Entertainment has been around since 1997! It’s crazy to think that Afeni Shakur founded it and then passed away from a heart attack in 2016. They’ve released 11 posthumous albums by 2Pac, plus the documentary Tupac: Resurrection. Talk about an impressive legacy!
Music Rights: Tupac Shakur’s music is owned by his estate, which is managed by his mother Afeni Shakur. This includes all of the rapper’s recordings, publishing rights, and master recordings.
Merchandise Rights: The estate also owns the rights to Tupac’s name and likeness for use in merchandise such as t-shirts, hats, posters, and other items.
Film & TV Rights: The estate also owns the rights to Tupac’s life story for use in films or television shows about him or related to his music career.
Publishing Rights: The estate also owns the publishing rights to all of Tupac’s songs and lyrics which allows them to license out his music for use in films, television shows, commercials and other media outlets that require a license agreement with the publisher before using any copyrighted material from an artist’s catalog.
I own a ton of Tupac’s music! From his classic hits like “California Love” to his more recent releases, I’ve got it all. It’s great to be able to jam out to some of the best rap songs ever made. Plus, it’s always fun to show off my collection and impress my friends!
