Wow, nine months sure does fly by! Pregnancy is a long journey, but before you know it, you’ll be holding your little bundle of joy in your arms. It’s an exciting time and one that will be remembered forever.
Length of Pregnancy: The average length of a pregnancy is 37 weeks, although some pregnancies may last longer or shorter than this.
Trimesters: Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters, each lasting approximately 13 weeks. During each trimester, the baby’s organs and systems develop and grow in preparation for birth.
Fetal Development: During the 37 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus will go through many stages of development including formation of organs and systems, growth in size and weight, and maturation of its senses.
Ultrasounds: Ultrasounds are used to monitor fetal development throughout the course of a pregnancy to ensure that everything is progressing normally.
Preterm Births: Preterm births occur when a baby is born before 37 weeks gestation; these babies may require additional medical care due to their premature birth date and may have long-term health complications as a result.
