Well, here we go again - another Altima with engine problems. It’s a real bummer, but it looks like we’ll have to get our hands dirty and take a closer look. Let’s see what we can do to get this baby running again! From what I’ve heard, these cars can be pretty finicky when it comes to engine issues. But don’t worry - I’m sure with some elbow grease and a little know-how, we’ll have this thing purring like a kitten in no time!

Do Nissan Altimas Have Engine Problems? [Solved]

Wow, that’s really bad news for Altima owners! 4,814 complaints over 28 model years is a lot and it looks like the PainRank™ system has put it at the bottom of the list when it comes to reliability. Yikes - engine and transmission issues are definitely not something you want to hear about.

  1. Oil Leaks: One of the most common engine problems with Altimas is oil leaks. This can be caused by a variety of issues, including worn or damaged seals and gaskets, loose or missing bolts, and cracked engine blocks.

  2. Overheating: Another common issue with Altimas is overheating due to a faulty thermostat or radiator cap. This can cause the engine to run too hot and eventually lead to serious damage if not addressed quickly.

  3. Poor Fuel Economy: Poor fuel economy can be caused by a variety of issues, including clogged fuel injectors, worn spark plugs, and dirty air filters. All of these components should be checked regularly for optimal performance and fuel efficiency.

  4. Rough Idling: Rough idling is often caused by vacuum leaks in the intake manifold or other parts of the engine system that are not sealed properly. This can cause the car to shake when it’s idle and should be addressed as soon as possible for safety reasons as well as improved performance overall.

  5. Knocking Noise: A knocking noise coming from your Altima’s engine could indicate an issue with its pistons or connecting rods that need to be replaced in order for it to run smoothly again without any further damage being done to other components in the system

Oh man, Altimas have been having some engine problems lately. It’s a real bummer ‘cause they’re usually so reliable. I mean, you don’t expect to have issues with the engine when you buy a car like that. But yeah, it’s been happening more and more often. So if you’re thinking of getting an Altima, just be aware that there could be some engine problems down the line.
